Fill it with tap water, drop in whatever needs cleaning, and switch it on. The 45,000Hz vibration works by cavitation - microscopic bubbles collapsing against a surface and lifting dirt out of the crevices a cloth simply cannot reach. It handles rings, necklaces, watch straps, glasses, dentures, braces, coins, razors, makeup brushes, beauty sponges, and small cutlery.
It runs quietly enough not to intrude on a room, which is unusual in this category, since most bench units buzz loudly enough that you leave the room while they work.
